A prime motivator of The Salvation Army since its founding in 1865
has been a belief in the worth of the individual. Consequently, programs are developed to empower people to overcome challenges and to provide the skills to promote the greatest degree of independence possible.
The Salvation Army strives to provide individualized supports with the mission of empowering individuals to maximize the quality of their lives through employment, community inclusion, and independence within their home communities.

The program provides a person centered approach to services that consider the uniqueness and abilities of each person served regardless of disability.

The Salvation Army endeavors to provide each person with the opportunity to choose where and how he or she learns, lives, works, and uses leisure time. We believe that individual choice is central to the growth and happiness of every person we serve.

Each individual is supported to become a full and contributing member of the community. Individuals are encouraged to develop meaningful relationships with community members and natural support networks within the larger community.

We believe that no individual can reach their full potential without the involvement of those closest to them who are most invested in their lives.
